Well, on the Thursday of 11th of March, Schools entering the BBC School News Report all over the UK had their News Reports broadcasted on BBC Interactive Channel from 8.00 am to 4.00pm. Unfortunately, since it was a school day, we didn't get to see our news report on TV, but our school had an assembly just for the BBC school report, and we made a slideshow and showed every groups' news report.
Overall, the BBC News Report was a great experience, and there were many things we learnt, including building team work and cooperation. We will all miss all the fun we had during the production of our news report.
Click Here to watch all 3 news reports that our school made, ours labelled as 'Animal Testing'....
Hope you like it!

Interview with Nuz Shugaa - Friday 5th March 2010
So today we interviewed Nuz Shugaa as you all know already only 4 of us from the whole group where allowed to go plus 2 adults who where Ms Saba and Safiyyah's Mum (Mrs Atia). We were all hoping we would miss some lessons, but Ms Saba made sure that we only missed the last period that was meant to be tutorial but everyone was doing the BBC School Report things.
As it was in Mayfair, it didn't take that long to get there. But whilst we were on the train we had our lunch and Fatimah (Interviewer) practiced her questions that were to be asked. Once we had arrived at Mayfair it was time to find where The Beauty Lounge was, so we decided to have a mini race from the station to The Beauty Lounge. Safiyyah (Camera Woman), Fatimah (Interviewer)and Mrs Atia went by bus and then walked and Hamna (Director), Safa (Nuz Shugaa's niece & Presenter) and Ms Saba took a different route and walked the whole way. Of course, Mrs Atia's team won !!!
Once we had got to The Beauty Lounge where Nuz Shugaa was, we looked around and were shown the products that Nuz used that were all NOT Animal Tested. We just realised that there are so many non-animal tested products out there that we can get hold of so easily and that's you doing your input to raise awareness and hopefully STOP Animal Testing. We decided where Nuz would be filmed and then it was decided Fatimah (Interviewer) would not be shown in the interview but would be heard. With one or two giggles we were underway with the filming. Safa and Hamna decided to take a few photos from outside, which will be uploaded soon. It was actually harder to film because we had much more background noise as it was along a street and there was many passers-by.
Filming was finally over and Nuz was quite surprised as when she is interviewed and filmed by other magazines and companies it almost takes 7 hours! Luckily it did not take us that long. We went upstairs and looked at the treament rooms and took photos with Nuz in different places. On the way back to school we discussed how well the filming had gone but we had caught a little bit of the rush-hour with people going back home from work but at least we got some seats after walking so much!
I (Safiyyah) or Ayunie should be updating the blog soon, so look out!

MARCH! Month of the deadline....
Well, there isn't much to say about what happened in March....
Basically we had to re-film Zahrah's part as there was too much background noise, finish up the powerpoint we were going to use for the new report and interview Nuz Shugaa.....
Only some team members were allowed on the trip to interview Nuz Shugaa, and they were:-

What We Did In February....
2 February 2010
We called Body Shop, with the help of Miss Saba, to ask about the interview. They didn't seem to mind but the problem was that their manager had recently passed away, and usually the workers at Body Shop don't really know much about what Body Shop does.
We then tried to find other well-known cosmetic companies that don't sell Animal Tested Products. After a few minutes of searching, Ayunie and Safina found out that Mary-Kay was another company that was against Animal Testing.
That evening, Miss Saba called Mary-Kay to ask whether we could interview them, but they also declined....
4 February 2010
Hamna and Safa were up in the library when Safa said that one of her aunts, Nuz Shugaa is a celebrity facialist. They went onto her website and found out that she didn't use Animal Tested Products. We decided to interview....
She accepted.
11 February 2010
At lunch, Ayunie and Safina typed the script to be printed out. They also researched more about Nuz Shugaa with Safa, and found out that she had worked with the cast of Mamma Mia!.
12 February 2010
Safa, Safiyyah, Safina and Ayunie made the absolute FINAL draft of the script, and printed out 4 copies, 3 of them had normal sized text, and one of them had fairly large text to show the presenters from afar if they were to forget their lines while filming.
Fatimah, Hamna, Asiya, Safina and Safiyyah then did the FINAL Interview Questions. We also practiced how the presenters were going to present the news report.
After that, we filmed the beginning part. It took us about half an hour, as there was laughing, mistakes being made, background noise, but in the end it turned out pretty well.
23 February 2010
We met up in the library at lunch. Safa and Amal practised the end part, Zahrah practised the presenting of information and statistics, and Fatimah practised reading out the interview questions. We also made a checklist of all the things that we had to do and had accomplished.
24 February 2010
We filmed Zahrah's part at lunch. Yes, it took a while because of mistakes being made, background noise and laughter, but in the end we had to stop because class was starting, but we still managed to film Zahrah's part.
26 February 2010
We gathered in the ICT Room and started the blog....
